Comics Creative Exhibits at First Comic Convention!
This past Sunday, I participated in my first convention as a creator at the Shrine Auditorium in LA.
I had a ton of fun introducing myself to the West Coast Comic Community. We sold lots of books (both my own and those by others), made a ton of new friends and Melvin G. Moose fans. I basically talked non-stop from 9AM until 2 PM, when the crowd finally began to thin out. Reminded me how much fun I have at conventions and how great it is to get out of the studio! Thanks to everyone who stopped by to listen to me rave about Melvin! We have more convention plans in the works!

Melvin Gets The Last Word.
People are reading! I'm coming to life! There are now 60 Moosekateers and members of my fan club! This feels great! You're giving me the spirit to spread the good word throughout Toodeopolis! The whole town is buzzing, especially with the appearance of new ideas and images everyday! Keep those cards , letters, and fan pictures coming, true believers! And go out and do something creative for yourself this weekend. We can't wait to see what appears in Toodeopolis next!

Lightweight Rimowa Soars over LA

July 11, 2012

In the sunset over the San Fernando Valley last night, the JU252 took its maiden North American flight in the Rimowa Luggage tour.

Selected guests, including Chris Hemsworth (Thor of Marvel movie fame), Marisa Tomei, Aaron Paul and Danny Masterson, were treated to a raucous, rattling ride high over the LA skyline.

Passengers soared over the San Fernando Valley from Van Nuys to Pasadena, roared around the Rose Bowl, dived past Dodger Stadium, circumnavigated downtown L.A., buzzed Beverly Hills, and wondered at the diversity and grandeur of the mountains and valleys of the LA basin and man's achievements upon them as the aircraft glided past The Getty Museum, through the Sepulveda pass and back to the Van Nuys Airport.

JU252 was originally built and designed as a German transport vehicle in the late 1930's. The all aluminum body design provided the inspiration for Rimowa's line of lightweight luggage, right down to it's signature grooves.

After landing, guests were treated to a leisurely five course meal, which included lobster martinis, duck ravioli, sea bass and Wagyu beef. The dinner was accompanied by an incongruous live modern alternative-rock band, since the theme and feel of the evening would have been better served by 1940s and '50s style music.

But otherwise and overall, a high flying and inspirational evening was had by all, thanks to Rimowa Luggage.

LA Studio Life

Moved in to my new Artist's Creative Space at 1019 Manchester yesterday to continue working on my graphic novel, Melvin G. Moose, Toode Dick.
Immediately, I've met over a dozen artists, teachers, and curators who are more than willing to discuss art theory and practice and share their works with me.
Nothing makes one feel more creative than being surrounded by other creatives!

Martin Scorsese's Love of Film

All films depicted in this image are over 21 years old. And a tip o' the hat to Leonardo DiCaprio.
